“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting.” He apologized. An accent adorned his manly voice.

I nodded shyly, my eyes still analyzing his every feature.

“The maids are getting the dishes soon. Please accept my apology. ” He said as he sat at the head chair of the massive table.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to apologise.” I glanced away from his gaze.

Just then a maid, then two walked in placing dishes of different kinds on the table.

I felt full at the sight of what was in front of me.

I wasn’t that foody type, I hated too many foods cause they get me fat easily and… I don’t wanna be fat.

I looked at the smaller plate on the tray that had scrambled eggs with ham, beside it was a bowl of fruit and a tall glass of orange juice.

I tried my best to eat it all but ended up eating half of it since I’m not used to such a big dinner.

The type of food I was eating wasn’t what he was eating.

I wished I know whatever class of food they belong to cause they actually don’t exist in the human world.

He asked me a lot of questions, family and personal related questions.

“What is your name?” He asked taking a bit of his drink.

” Lora. My name is Lora Weston. ” I replied, my legs still trembling in fear.

” Lora? ” He repeated.” That’s a nice name. ”

I shyly blushed.

” So, Lora, who are those men that attacked your village?” A maid came to fill his empty glass.

“They are called the Demon hunters. They hunt down Demons of any kind. They also destroy villages who hid Demons. ”

He nodded. ” Does your village hide demons? ”

I shook my head.

” Why then did they attacked? ”

” Because they’ve always wanted to destroy Acacia. Even after the peace talks with our forefathers, they’ve never stopped invading our village at anytime. ” I inhaled shakily as the tears threatened to leave my eyes.

I shouldn’t be saying this, any of this …

Remembering what had happened only brought nothing but pains, agony and sorrows burning in my inside.

I took a slice of the scrambled eggs into my mouth.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered.

I stayed quiet for a couple of seconds and then gazed up at him.

His face struck me more speechless with it’s rare beauty.

I have never seen a face like this.

I began to choke..

There was nothing that can cause me choke by a mere slice of the scrambled eggs.

Maybe, it was because of how I was lost to his beauty.

“Be careful.” He said. His voice was all the way calm and gentle.

After all, he wasn’t Lucifer himself and he wouldn’t think of killing me. Right?

After some few quietness, he asked me more questions. This time, they were sexually related.

“Are you a virgin?”

I don’t know what to say to that. I wanted to just tell him the truth but I saw myself lying instead.

“No.” I shook my head.

“When did you lose your virginity?”

I lied, ” sixteen.”

He nodded,” Do you have a boyfriend? ”

I nodded.

” I need you to use your words, Lora. ” He said darkly.

” Yes. ” I sighed.” We already planned on getting married by the end of the year but,,, it isn’t going to work out anymore. He’s dead,,, alongside with the others,,, in the attack. ” I replied, making sure I was putting each words correctly to avoid any notice that I was still lying.

“How old are you?” He glanced away for a second.

“Nineteen, I turned twenty on October.”

He hummed. ” Do you want to ask me anything? ”

I nodded slowly, ” where am I? ” It came out as a whisper.

“Somewhere in New York City.” He smirked. “It’s called a fortress.”

I gulped, home is so far away, well, it doesn’t matter now. Acacia is no more.

” I heard…” I started, “I heard you’re the vice commander of Lucifer. Is it true?”

I didn’t want to ask anything further but I couldn’t help it seeing myself so inquisitive to know more.

Surprisingly, he laughed.

His voice carried accent and authority in it. I felt embarrassed for liking that sweet tone.

“I’m not going to argue with you about that,” he simply said.

I kept staring at his face. He brushed the hair strand of his hair that covered his right eye and looked away from my gaze.

“I’m sorry about the hunters by the way,” he said after awhile. ” You’ll be safe here. And I’ll let no harm get to you.”

He made me feel safe even though I don’t know where I was in the map or who he is but he promised he’ll let no harm come to me…

I believe him…

Then a thought popped into my head.

“C… Can I… ask you one more… question? ”

” Sure. ” He said cleaning his lips with a small white towel.

“What is… your name?” I stammered.

“Lucas… Lucas Deluca. ”

” Thanks, Lucas, for everything. ”
