Chapter 47

Brend’s POV

I didn’t say a word, I just turned from him and kept blushing right there on the floor.

He had said he wanted me to sleep on he floor but now, he would rather prefer joining me on the floor.

I slept off.

—I woke up around 6 in the afternoon and on waking, I couldn’t find him anymore.

“Scott!” I called but could not find him. He must have gone to his place.

I remembered that he had said Brenda would leave yesterday, I hope she had left so I can move in to his place.

He’s stubborn ,though but I’d prefer staying with him than living in this unsecured area.

I got dressed and off to work.

On arriving at work, I met few of my colleagues having gist with each other. I sat lonely and chuckled to myself as I remembered how Scott flawlessly beat the bully chef.

“Good morning sir.” I heard my colleague say and as I turned, I saw the Chef.

“Brenda, wait for me in my office.” He ordered and surveyed the kitchen.

I walked to his office but before I got there, I met Scott’s mom.

“I’m glad you are punctual at work.” She said with a smile.

“Than you ma.” I said and before she could walk away, I quickly said : “The chef told me to go to his office and wait for him, I do not know why me precisely.”

She pressed her eye on me and looked towards the direction I was coming from.

“Let me ask him.” She said and I followed her.

We went to the kitchen and we saw the Chef addressing one of my colleagues

“Excuse me. “Scott’s mom said and as he turned and saw us, he said; ” Busy…wait for me.”

“He’s too rude.” I find myself saying seeing how he talked to Scott’s mom.

“He’s enjoying the privilege of his father.” Scott’s mom said.

“Go and join your colleague.” She ordered.

I did not think twice, I walked straight to my colleague who were sitting at the kitchen and as he saw me, he asked: “What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you to wait for me at my office?”

“I don’t understand why I should, the assistant manager had told me to go back to the kitchen, last time I checked, she’s of more rank than you are in this company.”
