Chapter 57

Brenda’s POV

“I’m leaving for work, will you drive me?” I winked at Scot.

“Just declare that I’m your driver already.” He said and hissed.

He went to sit at the living room and switched on the television.

“You are not yet my driver but…don’t you see men driving women?” I asked.

“I see husband driving their wives, we are not couples. Plus you said I’m not ‘yet’ your driver? you must be silly.” He said and focused on the screen of the television.

I checked my wrist watch and saw that I still had time, I knew better not to arrive late at my place of work so that the chef would not use that against me and get me fired.

“Please….big head.” I said and ruffled his hair.

He stood and shot me a dark look.

He did the same with my hair and my well arranged hair scattered.

“Scot, did you know how many hours it tool me to fix this hair?” I asked but he just sat back and continued watching the television.

“Fine..don’t except me to cook for you when I arrive.” I said and threw an unused tissue paper to his head.

I walked out.

I walked few distance to where I can get a cab that I can chatter to work.

A cab finally came before me and I quickly entered.

I noticed the can was new but I ignored.

“Alelui avenue.” I said where I’m to drop but there was no response from the driver.

“$4” I stated the amount I usually board it but still, there wasn’t a response.

Is he deaf or something?

If he is, he should have just given me a signal.

I then tapped him on his shoulder but he did not turn his head back.

I wanted to check his face through the front mirror but it wasn’s there.

I was beginning to feel strange and uncomfortable.

“Hey, hey!” I called but got no response still.

I peeped and saw that the path he was threading was towards the office, but I was still uncomfortable.

Scot’s POV

-Five minutes before-

My mind was not on the television that I was watching, I knew it’s best for me to transport Brenda to her place of work basically because of security plus I really like her clumsiness.

I walked out with my car key and drive to where she was suppose to take a cab but I couldn’t find her.
