Chapter 93

Brenda’s POV

I was still sitting before Scot.

He had asked the question I loathed to hear over the years.

I lowered my head sadly, it was like he had just touched a sour in my heart. I just want to live the rest of my life happily and not think about them.

“It’s alright, Brenda.”Scot realized my mood and I raised my head up at him.

” My family hurt me so bad.” I said and tears began to pour heavily already from my face

He stood and helped me up.

He made me rest on his chest and said; “I do not think you are already to tell me, keep it for now. When you are comfortable with telling me, I’ll be willing to hear.” He said but remembering my past made me cry more.

I cried more.

He helped me clean my tears and we walked back inside the room.

After several hours, Scot said; “We would be going home tomorrow.”

“Alright.” I said.

I was now cheering up and trying to forget my family.

I do not want to have anything to do with them anymore.

Scot and I arrived home.

“We would be doing a party at work tomorrow, two members of the board are coming….I do not want to attend because of shat silly chef.

” Party? what date is it?” He asked.

“Tomorrow, sorry, I’m telling you late, I actually did not see any reason to tell you cause I was not even planning of attending.” I said and looked him

“Go.” He said briefly.

“I should go? Why? I have a feeling that it would be messy? you know what I mean?” I asked

“I want you to attend, I have my reasons.” He said.

“Are you coming?” I asked

“I’m not even a worker.”

“Non workers are permitted to come. Come with me.” I requested.

“No, just go.” He said and I can not but wonder why he wanted me to go yet he wasn’t ready to follow me.

Well, he said he has his reason, I will just trust him.

—-Following day- In the evening–

I had dressed my best getting ready for the party.

I went to meet Scot and said; “I’m ready to leave for the party, will you transport me?”

He stood without replying and we both walked to his car.

He drove me to the restaurant, I alighted and watched him drive away.
