The smile that wanted to surface on Mehek’s face was gone.

“Don’t you remember what happened? Who I am or what you are my dear?” Mehek asked.

Aishwarya closed her eyes to think but nothing showed up, she then opened her eyes to stare at Mehek.

“Sorry, I can’t remember, but who are you to me?” She asked, sitting up right on Mehek lap and touched her bandaged face. “And why is my face like this?”

Having no other option since the princess couldn’t remember who she was.

“I am your mother dear, you were involved in a terrible accident which nearly damaged your face, so I took you to the hospital to stitch it and they did, your face will be on that bandaged until a month time.” Mehek replied and a thought suddenly came to her. She carefully set Aishwarya down on the next empty chair closer to her and then brought four fingers to Aishwarya face “How many fingers are you seeing?” She asked.

“Four.”

“How many now?” Mehek asked as she removed two fingers.

“Two.”

Mehek breathed a sigh of relief, she was happy aside from her memory loss, Aishwarya seems okay. Now, the only thing she is going to watch out for is if Aishwarya has gotten some dark powers.

Mehek then gave Aishwarya her already cold tea to drink up and pay the old woman who has been listening attentively to their discussion.

“You have no one here right?” The old woman asked Mehek.

“No ma’am, but if I could see where my daughter and I would lay our heads tonight I would be glad. I am very low on cash right now.” Mehek replied as she stared at Aishwarya drinking her cold tea.

“Okay, I can be of help to you.” The old woman said, prompting Mehek to look at her. “I have a vacant room down the village in my house which I can allow you and your daughter to stay in.” She told Mehek.

“But I don’t have money to pa-”

Interrupting her gently. “I didn’t ask that you pay. But you shall be coming to my tea shop everyday to open and clean it., and apart from that, I will be feeding you and your daughter until you’ve found a decent job around here.”

“Thank you so much ma’am. You are really a good person.” Mehek thanked her.

“You will have to wait up a little bit before I will close.”

“That will be no problem ma’am.” Mehek said.

“What is your name?”

“Mehek ma’am.”

“And your daughter?”

Mehek paused thinking of a quick name. “Ashwini ma’am.”

“I want to see the both of you in private.” The doctor told the couple and they excused themselves and left the room Rohan was.

“How can you claim him as your son, what if his family are looking for him?” The doctor whispered yelled at the driver, Subash and his wife, Anjali.

“You know we have been patiently waiting for a child since we got married but none came. Now the creator sends us one we are not letting him go.” The driver replied to the doctor.

“And for his family searching for him, we will have to wait for a few days to know if his pictures would appear on the news but if it didn’t, then you should know the creator had sent him to us to clean my tears away.” The woman told the doctor.

“What if he regains his memory?” The doctor asked the couple.

“Until then doctor.” Both husband and wife answered together.

“Okay, let me go and start treatment on him at once.” The doctor told them and went back to meet Rohan.

“What are we going to call him dear?” Subash asked his wife.

“Rohit.” Anjali replied.
