“If you thing this is some sick game and life is just a joke, I’m gonna need you to snap out of it” I immediately logged into my computer and emailed Ally. Telling her to call the police and send them to my house, then I texted Nate and told him to go over there immediately.

“I’m not joking. Joshua we are supposed to be together”

“You can’t be serious you couldn’t hurt a fly” I pleaded.

“I did the math Joshua! Your job is at least 25 minutes away from your house. Nate is at home and he lives 20 minutes away. I’m two minutes from your house and the police won’t get here until they find her body and I’m halfway to Mexico” she laughed. “So yea I could hurt a f****ng fly”

“Leticia just listen to me” I tried to reason with her.

“Nope, I don’t want to talk to you anymore. Goodbye Joshua” and with that she hung up the phone. I immediately called her back but no answer.

“f**k!” I yelled and slammed the phone on the floor. Watching it break.

I ran out of my office and into the elevator impatiently waiting for it to get to the first floor.

When I did I ran over to Ally’s desk.

“I called the police for you sir, what’s happening?” “I can’t talk, give me a phone” I said.

She handed me an iPhone and I hurried out the building to my car.

“Hello?” A sweet voice asked.

“Valentina!” I yelled into the phone.

“Joshua?” She asked.

“You need to get out of the house right now!” I got into my car and fumbled to put my keys in the ignition.

“Why?”

“Just do as I say” I shouted as I dropped my keys.

“Joshua you’re scaring me, I’m getting dressed, then I’ll be out of the house in like 15 minutes. Miles gave me the box, I love everything”

“I’m glad Valentina but I really need you to hide” I started the car.

“What’s going on?” She shouted. “Why won’t you tell me?”

“I’m on my way and he police are too” I sped down the street.

“Hold on someone’s at the door” she said then I heard noise in the background.

“Don’t answer that f****ng door!” I practically screamed into the phone. “Leticia is trying to kill you. You and miles need to hide NOW!”

“Oh my God” she said. “O-okay” She stuttered. “Ummm, oh my God Joshua, where do I go?” She cried.

“Go in the-”

“Miles don’t open the door!” She yelled. “MILES!” She screamed into the phone.

~Bang bang~

“OH MY G- MILES!”

“Valentina! Go into my office and lock the door!”

I felt my palms get sweaty and everything seemed to go to slow. The cars in front of me, the stop lights. I’m never going to get to her. I just made her mine and I’ll never be able to keep her.

“I’m here” she then said breaking my train of thought.

“Under the couch there is a black box, the key to it is in my desk drawer. Unlock the box”

“Okay” she said breathing heard. I heard her rummage through my things until she said. “I found it”

“Okay now just-”

“Oh my gosh, she’s coming Joshua” she cried.

“Open the box now, Valentina”

“I am!” She shouted. I heard her gasp and mumble something.

“What is it?” I asked thinking something else was wrong.

“A gun? I can’t shoot a gun, Joshua. I’ve never shot a gun!”
“Valentina just take it and hide the police are on their way”

I heard her whimper then it went quiet. I wanted to say something but I heard quiet talking in the background.

I’m now seven minutes away but it feels like I’m twenty. I wonder if the police are there, I wonder if Nate is on his way. I wonder if Miles is dead.

If something happens Valentina, I’ll kill Leticia with my bare hands. I never loved her I don’t know why she can’t move on. I should’ve known she was crazy.

Some people love love and some people would die for it. I would die for it. For Valentina I would do anything, I would die for her.

When I get to her I’m gonna hold her close. Let her know that I love her and I’ll never let her go.
