“Daphne! Daphne!” I heard mom and dad call but I was determined to leave,leave the man who bore an angel like Cassandra. I still found it difficult to process all that’s happening. Cassandra and i are step siblings?
She grew up without the love of a mother while I swam in it? I walked over to the road side bench before planting myself on it.
I buried my face in my palms as my phone beeped. I checked the recipient and it was Laurel. I wonder why he’s calling.

“Yeah_?” I said into the phone a bit blunt. I just wanted to be alone and receiving this phone call isn’t part of it.
“I just wanted to know how Cassandra is doing,can I take her out tomorrow?” He asked and I scoffed. “She’s engaged so stop chasing her.” I almost yelled at him but kept my cool.
“What! Engaged?_” he asked, probably surprised about my outburst but i don’t give a damn. “You heard right,so look for someone else. And just so you know, she’s engaged to Shawn Handel.” I gave the final blow as he sighed.
“Alright.” He said and disconnected the call. By now,mom was already sitting next to me with her hands on her thighs.
“Daphne,I know you’re angry at Richard but know this,the fault is mine. I caused it.” She said as I turned to look at her.
“What do you mean?” I asked, ready to listen to whatever she’s gonna say.
“I left him,I left him for your father,left my baby girl all because of a career,a better life that’s why he hates you,he believes you’re the fruit from my marriage to your dad,he believes you stole all the love from Cassandra and I don’t blame him about that. I just hope your relationship with Cassandra doesn’t change.” She said as I looked away.
I’d just have to talk to Cassandra at school tomorrow. That’s what am gonna do.

I slid my feet into the shoe before walking out of the bedroom. Letty my maid was already preparing breakfast but I wasn’t interested in that. I was only interested in seeing Shawn and teaching that bitch a lesson.
“Ma’am your_” I raise my hands, silencing her immediately as she scurried to the kitchen. Am glad she understands me so well.
I hummed happily before getting into my car. Am not gonna let that tramp get everything I’ve laboured so hard for. Am not gonna let Shawn fall in love with her. Never!!
My cellphone began to buzz and immediately I knew who it’d be. “Andrea,he won’t be around.” I replied bluntly and disconnected the call.
Andrea is the event planner for the engagement party and wedding but am gonna make sure it doesn’t push through.

I drove through the driveway and finally got out of my car. I know he didn’t go home so here am I at his penthouse.
“Am sorry miss,but Mr Shawn has an order concerning his disturbance.” Jack, Shawn’s driver said as I scoffed and pushed him away.
“You don’t order me,I get to do that okay?” I said and he nodded before giving way for me to go in. Funny enough,Shawn has never taken me into his penthouse but this bitch? Arrgh!
I knocked softly on the door and the dumb girl opened up. Heard she was molested by her father but I care less. Her face held horror when she sighted me.
She made to lock the door but I pushed it greatly and she fell to the floor as I chuckled lightly.
“What you get for_” the loud shriek from a baby stopped me mid sentence as I gazed around.
I walked slowly,tracing it till I got to a door and was about pushing it when a hand gripped me roughly.
“Who let you in? Huh?” Shawn spun me around to face him as I gasped. He was shirtless and water flowed freely on his body.
I heard a door creak open and Cassandra walked out in a flimsy towel. My blood ran cold with the possibility of them making love.
Wait a minute. Is the baby hers? Oh no! Tears burned at the back of my eyes as I looked at Shawn.
“Is that baby hers? Did she mother the child? Huh tell me!” I screamed, ready to pull her hair off.
“Yes,so you can leave.” He replied smoothly, bluntly, sternly as my feet wobbled.
Jack walked in and made to pull me away but I snatched my hands and walked proudly out of the house.
It isn’t over, they’ll both pay. Pay dearly!

“Am really scared now. What if she hurts Sara or me?” Cassandra asked as we made our way into Sara’s bedroom. “Good morning sweetheart.” Cassandra said, picking her from her crib as Sara wrapped her arms around Cassandra’s neck.
“Come on let’s go for breakfast,I need to be in school in the next two hours.” She continued before pulling me gently after her.
“So you’ll be taking her along? Will that be okay?” Mrs Pamela asked and I nodded. “I see no reason why we should keep her here. She has a family,a grandma a grand father and others.” I replied as she nodded.
“Thanks for all your help,I really appreciate it.” She said as colline walked towards me with her iPad. Yeah I got it for her since she couldn’t talk and needed to communicate.
“Wow, that’s great.” I said happily, looking at the iPad. “She got admitted into the university and that’s good.” I said as a smile broke lose from her mother’s face.
“She’s burning up,I don’t know what’s wrong.” Cassandra’s statement caught me unawares as I sprang up immediately.
Sara’s sick again!!!
