Anika’s POV

” You called me Dad ” I said sitting beside him.

” I did, I guess you still remember my friend Kingsley right?” He asked .
I thought for a while and then…

” Oh! Jeffrey’s father?” I beamed at mentioning his name.

I just wish he will give me a single attention one of this days.

I so much love him despite his cold attitude.

He’s not just handsome, he’s well built, most successful bachelor, he has taken over the business world at such a young age.

Isn’t he worth admiring? He’s every lady’s dream! Rich and handsome!

” Yes, he came here today ” he said and I furrowed my eyebrows.
What does that have to do with me?

” And?” I asked

” He came with a marriage proposal for his son ”

Wait! A marriage what?

Alexa’s POV

” Sir?” I called like I didn’t understand what he said.

I just want to confirm he’s not playing games with me.

Mr CEO is not someone to trust, why on Earth will he ask to have lunch with me all of a sudden?

That’s scary you know? Or he’s just in a good mood today!
I don’t seems to get why!

” I would love to have lunch with you Sidney, would you?”

Now he’s forwarding the question to me! How does it feel to eat when your boss is few feet away from you?

What if he disgraces me there? Or even mock me?

And can I turn him down? I am scared of being fired.

I sighed softly creasing my knuckles together.

” I uhhm, I will Sir ” I replied fidgeting with my fingers.

He didn’t insult me today, that’s to show it’s a good start.

” Good, get ready then. Till lunch ” he replied with a sly smile.

Wow! A lot has happened in 5minutes. What happened to Mr Kingsley?

” Anything else Sir?”

” No, you can leave and continue what you were doing ” he replied dismissively.

I bowed my head leaving his office, when I reached mine, I released the breathe I didn’t know I was holding.

That man is just confusing, he’s been all cold since I arrived here and now, he wants me to have lunch with him.

I just hope it goes well!
I heard a knock on my door as I was about opening my laptop.

It’s not yet lunch right ? The thought of it gives me mixed feelings.

” Come in ”

Oh Stella! My bad, I haven’t seen her lately! All Thanks to the boss!

” Stella ” I called smiling at her.

” Well, Good morning too Alexa ”
She replied rolling her eyes.

” I’m sorry okay, Mr Kingsley has made sure I don’t have a peaceful and free time all to myself in this company ”
I replied sincerely and she chuckled

” I can relate, you are really trying and I can’t believe you lasted more than three days ” she said in a surprise tone and I frowned.

Was she expecting me to be fired?

” Don’t get the wrong idea babe, that wasn’t what I meant. I mean none of his personal assistant has lasted more than three days ”

She explained as if reading my mind! But is he that cold?

” Well, that’s that! How are you coping with Mr Kingsley? ” She asked and I just shrugged.

” Bombarding me with loads of work, but he seems to be in a good mood today, no much work ”

” Maybe that’s towards you, I don’t know why I have this feeling that Mr Kingsley has a soft spot for you ” she said with a wink and I scoffed.

Don’t tell me this is a female version of Andrew!

” What makes you think so?” I asked folding my arms around my me.

” Don’t give me that look, we all see that look Mr Kingsley gives you all the time. He might be acting so cold but he likes you ” she said dramatically.

” And when did you become a relationship coach? ” I asked

” Since forever babe, I need to go. Got some works to do. See ya ”

★ lunch time ★

My jaw dropped as Mr Kingsley opened the door for me like a gentleman !

This attracted lots of his workers attention, I was shocked beyond reasonable doubt.

Like did he ….oh my God! And he acted as if he don’t care? Goodness! This is a dream that I have to wake up from.

Why didn’t we just eat here in the office? I have never seen him eat here though!

I glanced at him and he kept a smile on his face. Is this really Mr Kingsley or an imposter?

I entered into the car amidst the stares. I am as shocked as they are.

I don’t know if I should feel embarrassed or happy. Wait, what’s there to be happy about when he’s acting all weird and acting like a sweet boyfriend?

I don’t feel comfortable at all! His change of attitude is scaring me!

” Uhm Sir?” I called as he sat in the car…

” Yes Sidney” .

” Where are we going for the lunch Sir?”

” It’s a surprise, you don’t have to know ”
My days!
Mr Kingsley is surprising me!
