Xander’s POV

I climbed over the gate of Mr Benedict, scaled trough it easily. once I jumped down the fence silently, I tiptoed over to the door of the house, opened the door silently and then tiptoed inside.

I stood in the middle of the sitting room, my ear listening for any sudden noise, but the whole house is dead silent, like as if there’s no one in the damn house.

Maybe there asleep, they could have gone to bed really early. I just feel there’s something wrong but I don’t know what it is, i shrugged of the feeling and then climbed up the stairs, to the bedroom.

I checked all the bedrooms in the house but I couldn’t even find a single soul in all the rooms.

Okay, there is something fishy happening here, Mr Eli told me that the family would be at home tonight, why can’t I even see already one person. I checked the huge compound, the garage, the garden, the backyard, every single place I could think of and I still couldn’t find a single soul.

I finally decided to check the gate man post, and I couldn’t even find the security man there. This whole house is empty, and from the look of things, I could tell they ran away but why did they ran away. Wait a minute, did they know that I would be coming, cause it’s only if they knew that they would all leave.

I took out my phone from my pocket, my eyes on the huge empty building, “Mr Eli, what is the meaning of this. You assured me that my target would be here tonight.”

“Yes of course, and they are there, they are right in their house.” Mr Eli replied.

“No they are not. The family you asked me to look, are not in their house.” I had to stop myself from yelling cause at the moment I am feeling very angry, I just came here to waste my time and I hate wasting my time.

“What are you talking about? I was sure they were would be in there house, there there is no way you they would have left. It’s not possible.” Mr Eli said to me.

I groaned inwardly thinking what a fool this man is, he just wasted my time. “Of course Mr Benedict and his family are not here Mr Eli. I am in their house right now, and I have searched every single place in this house and Mr Benedict along with his family are nowhere to be found. Wait, don’t tell me you think I’m lying to you or do you think I’m making this up. You can coke here yourself and see for yourself that they are not here.”

“That won’t be necessary, I believe what you are saying Mr Xander. But I just can’t understand, how it’s possible that Mr Benedict and his family are not at home. He told me, that he would be staying in with his family, so this is quite a shock to me. I think someone must have tipped him off, someone must have known about the plan, someone must have known that you were going to come and kill him tonight. Now, we just have to find out who this someone is.”

“Well… You better do, cause I hate it when I don’t finish a particular mission.” I said to him.

“Sure, I will look into the matter Xander and get back to you.” He said and then hung up. I smashed the table lamp next to me, really angry. I might not have gotten you today Mr Benedict, but be rest assured I will get you next time.

Mia POV

I laughed really hard, on a seeing how Xander is on the screen of my phone. I must have really gotten him, he thought I would let him kill those men and his family well…. I will never let you do that. I will never let you kill me Benedict and his family, I will not never let you commit any crime, ever again. I’m going to make sure of it, I’m going to make sure that I stop you, I going to make sure that I change you.

A call came to my phone and I swiped the green button, “Hello, Mr Benedict. How may I help you.” I ask Mr Benedict, on picking the call.

“I just called to say thank you, you just saved my life, I watched everything that happened on the screen and I can’t bring myself to think, that if you had not call me, I and my family would have been dead by now, and I owe it all to you.” Mr Benedict said thankfully I smiled happily then replied with, it’s alright I just did what every person is supposed to do, so you don’t have to thank me. I just did my work as a citizen, when I see a crime that is about to happen I just help out so it’s okay.

“Even though you said that, I don’t have to thank you, I still believe that I have to still thank you cause you still saved my life and that of my family, thank you so much.” He said, “You’re welcome sir.” With that I said and then cut the call.

Xander Pov

“Calm down Xander, stop being so angry.’ Chan said as I paced around the room very very angry my hand folded into a fist. I could just kill someone right now.

“It was just a mission Xander. There’s no need for you to act this way.” Chan said, and I turn to glare at him, this isn’t just a mission, this wasn’t just a mission to me. This, this was a way to vent out all my anger, I’ve been holding in since I knew a certain girl called mia. Only, just for Mr Benedict and his family not to be in the damn house. I am so angry, right now.

“What if, just like me Eli said, there is somebody responsible for this all. Someone must have been responsible for tipping of Mr Benedict and his family and it can only mean, this other person must have know about the mission. But the question now is, who do you think would have told them.” Chan asked thoughtfully.

I walked around the room for a while thinking, my mind calculating. No one has ever been able to beat me up at own my game, no one has ever been able to throw me off my feet, except from Mia.

Could she have know about the mission with Mr Eli and had decided to stop me from killing Mr Benedict and his familiar. Besides, during the meeting, I did feel like she was there, right there in the meeting. Something is definitely fishy, and Mia has a lot of question to answer to.

“I think I might have a little bit of idea, of who that person is. I would be right back Chan.” I tapped his shoulder lightly, then walked away and out of his house.

“Mia! Mia! Mia! Mia! Mia!.” I yelled angrily, walking into my house.

“I am right here Xander, you don’t have to shout so loudly.” She yelled boredly from the sitting room.

“I have got some questions that needs your answer mia, and don’t you even dare lie to me.” I growled pointing my finger at her.

“Okay… what’s your question?.” She asked sighing.

“Why did you do it? why did you do it Mia?.” I yelled at her, my fist tightened.

“Did what?.” Mia asked pretending to be confused, I could clearly see, she’s pretending.

“Mia, I know you are the one that did it. I wouldn’t want to admit it, but you are the only one who has been able to beat me on my game and no one else can do it. So Mia, I want you to answer the damn question, why did you do it. Why the heck won’t you stay away from my business!!.” I growled at her.

“Fine! Fine! I did it okay, I did it because I wanted nothing else but to change you, Li jie.” She yelled, what she just call me?.

I breathe out and then breathe back out, “What did you just say? What you just call me?.” I asked her shock, taking a step towards her.

“You heard me right, Li Jie.” She said simply, I stumbled back in shock, she didn’t just call me that. Wait, the memories, all the flashback, it was all there in front of his eyes, Mia is no other person but Meun Soo.
